Kuroninja Gold Episode 21
Episode 21: The Deathfish
Haruna Nakamura and a few other Nemesis Clan soldiers were near the lake at night. There was a large cloud of shadow in the water. However, this wasn't any shadow. It was a crossing to the Shadow Dimension, and the home of the Deathfish, a sea monster that lurked in dark waters, waiting to strike.
Haruna then waved a glowing, pink light at the water. A sea monster then jumped out, but Haruna got out her arrows, shooting at the sea monster. This sea monster had very thick natural armour, though, so although the arrows hit, it had no effect. This was how dangerous the Deathfish was. Haruna then retreated, as the Deathfish started running toward the city. It then started to see sunlight, so it dove into the nearest water source it could find, which was near the docks. The Deathfish dove into the water as the sun came up.
The next day, Kuroninja was training his students, except for Shinnosuke Nakamura, who was still missing, and Kai Hirose, who was also missing. Antonio Vega had also returned, and he was stronger than usual, thanks to mastering the ultimate power of the Fire Dimension. However, there was something concerning Kuroninja, and that was the return of Iroyas.
Kuroninja went down to his underground base, where Iroyas was. Iroyas was supposed to be dead, because when Necromega was killed, all of his undead soldiers turned to dust, including Iroyas. Kuroninja wasn't even sure if this was Iroyas, because she had brown hair, and a more upbeat personality. Kuroninja asked Iroyas how she was still alive.
Iroyas then explained that the Iroyas that Kuroninja was fighting was actually a Specter that only shared the basic Shadow Dimension mindset of despair, due to the fact that Iroyas' soul wasn't there. Without Iroyas' soul, this undead didn't have the hidden personality traits that she kept on the outside.
Kuroninja was confused, so Iroyas explained further.
Despite being born in the Shadow Dimension, Iroyas was very optimistic and enjoyed life. She only acted desperate on the outside to fit in with the depressing atmosphere of the Shadow Dimension. Iroyas' hope was very strong, that when Riyu killed her, her soul kept holding on, which led to it being trapped inside the Soul Stone on Riyu's switchblade. The switchblade was then destroyed by Yuri, and the blood red gemstone was destroyed much later by the very first void ninja, releasing Iroyas' soul.
Kuroninja asked who the very first void ninja was, but Iroyas said that nobody ever speaks her name, so she doesn't know. Suddenly, the tv showed that the Deathfish was attacking the city, so Kuroninja rushed to the city to stop it.
Meanwhile, Kai Hirose was in the Water Dimension, and the Water Dimension had found him worthy of its Ultimate Power. Kai Hirose took the Ultimate Power, which was in the form of a blue, octahedron-shaped gemstone. A whirlpool then formed, and Kai Hirose woke up on the shore. He then went back to his house, and decided to watch some tv. Suddenly, on the news, he saw the Deathfish attacking people in the day. Hirose then grabbed his trident and rushed to the scene.
At the same time, Kuroninja was fighting the Deathfish, which was completely covered in armour, preventing even Kuroninja from dealing damage to it. Hirose then appeared, pushed Kuroninja out of the way without giving any reason for doing so, and then attacked with his trident. The Deathfish then grabbed Hirose's tirdent and broke it. Hirose was shocked.
"How is this possible?" Kuroninja thought. "I thought this creature hated light!"
"It does," a voice said. Kuroninja turned around and saw a dart of shadow energy coming at him. He dodged just in time. In front of Kuroninja was Yajin Niroku and Ikustan.
"You two!" Kuroninja said.
"Yes, we're controlling the Deathfish," Yajin Niroku said. "Those Nemesis Clan fools thought that they could, but I can control it during the daytime!"
Kuroninja took a closer look at the Deathfish, and he noticed that there was a cloud of black fog covering the Deathfish's eyes. The Deathfish had also taken out Hirose, who was trying to use the Ultimate Power of water, but for some reason it wasn't working.
Kuroninja was upset that one of his students got attacked, so he slashed the Deathfish really hard, creating a large cut through the armour. He then took Kai Hirose with him and retreated.
Later, Antonio Vega went over to Kai Hirose.
"Why?" Antonio Vega said. "Don't you know how much danger you put yourself in, Hirose? Do you?"
Hirose didn't say anything.
"Come on," Vega said. "Say something! Why did you go out there to fight the Deathfish?"
Hirose then shot a blast of water in Vega's face and escaped with a smoke bomb.
"I've got to go after Kai Hirose," Antonio Vega said.
"Wait," Satomi said. She was nearby. "I don't know why, but I feel like I have to talk to him."
Antonio Vega then left, but then heard someone screaming outside. This person was running away from the Deathfish. Vega then went to get his ninja gear, but then he was stopped by Sayori.
"Where are you going?" Sayori asked him.
"I've got to stop the Deathfish," Vega said. "Who knows how many people are in danger?"
Vega then left. Sayori then went to get her ninja gear, but then ran into Natsuki.
"Sayori!" Natsuki said. "Where are you going?"
"I'm going to find Antonio Vega," Sayori said. "He's fighting the Deathfish, and as his girlfriend, I've got to help him!"
"Wouldn't it be a better idea to find Satomi?" Natsuki said. "She would be better at fighting anything."
"You're right, how stupid of me," Sayori said. She then got her stuff and went to find Satomi.
Meanwhile, Satomi was walking in the forest (NO, not that forest), when she got attacked by a bear. Satomi tried to use her Green Ninjutsu, but the bear's attack was too fast. Suddenly, a shuriken hit a tree behind the bear, so the bear left Satomi and went to go after it. The one who threw the shuriken then stood in front of Satomi. It was Kai Hirose.
Hirose then helped Satomi up, and took her to the lake.
"Thanks for saving me," Satomi said.
"No problem," Hirose said. "Are you hurt?"
"Not really," Satomi said.
"That's a relief," Hirose said. "I've spent a long time in these woods, and there's a lot of dangerous stuff there. Better be careful."
"Ok," Satomi said. She then paused for a bit.
"Hey Hirose," she said, "is it ok if I ask you something?"
"Ok, what is it?" Hirose said.
"Why did you attack the Deathfish on your own?" Satomi asked.
"Well, you see..." Hirose said...
"...my father was killed by the Deathfish. So I felt like I had to avenge him."
"Did you ever think of getting help? I'm here, you know." Satomi said.
"Well," Hirose said, "my dad got killed by the Deathfish because I told him about it. I noticed this large, dark cloud in the water, and my dad tried to catch it to show off to me..."
"So that's why you don't talk to anyone in the dojo," Satomi said. "At least you know what your dad looked like. I was kidnapped and brought to the Nature Dimension at a very young age, for no reason, so I have no idea who my real parents are. Don't worry, Hirose, I think I can help you."
Satomi then used her Green Ninjutsu to remove a piece of wood from a nearby tree. She then compressed it to make it very thin, like paper, and then shaped it into a square. Satomi then folded the piece of very thin wood into an origami crane, which then flew into Satomi's hands.
"Here you go," Satomi said, giving the crane to Hirose.
"Thanks, Satomi," Hirose said. "I think I feel better now. Let's fight the Deathfish together!"
Suddenly, Hirose's eyes started to glow bright blue. The Ultimate Power of Water had awakened within him.
"Whoa!" Satomi said, shocked. "What's happening?"
"It's the Ultimate Power of Water," Hirose said. "I got it yesterday, and I had no idea how to use it until now!"
Sayori then ran into the forest, holding her weapon.
"Finally...I have arrived!" Sayori said.
"Sayori!?" Satomi said, noticing the weapon that Sayori was holding. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, nothing," Sayori said. "I went here looking for you, Satomi!"
"Thank goodness," Satomi said. "I thought you came here for some other reason."
"Anyway," Sayori said, "I need your help! Vega-kun is fighting the Deathfish on his own!"
"His fire ninjutsu won't work," Kai Hirose said. "He needs me. Water Ninjutsu is more precise!"
Sayori, Satomi, and Hirose then left the forest, ready to fight the Deathfish.
In the city, Antonio Vega was fighting the Deathfish, aiming for the large cut given to it by Kuroninja. However, even with the Ultimate Power of Fire, Antonio Vega still couldn't penetrate the Deathfish's armour. The Deathfish was about to finish Antonio Vega off, but then it got hit by a wave of leaves. Sayori then attacked the Deathfish with her rope dart, while Satomi summoned vines to restrain the Deathfish.
"What the heck are you doing here?" Antonio said.
"We're here to help you fight the Deathfish!" Satomi said.
Hirose then activated his Ultimate Power, and sent a blast of water at the Deathfish's scar. The dart of water shot through the Deathfish, causing it to implode. Kai Hirose then materialized a trident out of water vapour, and then threw it at the Deathfish, killing it. The Deathfish died in a big explosion.
Later, Satomi went over to where Yuri was.
"Hey, Yuri," Satomi said. "What's up?"
"Oh, nothing." Yuri said.
"Guess what I did?" Satomi said.
"What?" Yuri said.
"I got Kai Hirose to talk!" Satomi said.
"Hmmm...." Yuri said, suddenly feeling quiet.
"What is it?" Satomi asked Yuri.
"I've seen this pattern before..." Yuri said, as she walked away.
"What do you mean?" Satomi asked. However, Yuri didn't answer.
